Burn permits can be obtained at the Fire Department, under the City Fire Codes.

YOU MUST OBTAIN A BURN PERMIT BEFORE YOU BURN

It is best to call in advance to obtain a permit. Permit may be issued over the phone.

Our station is manned during the above specified hours. Please leave a message on weekends and an representative will contact you as soon as possible.

Be prepared to supply the following information for permits:

•  First and Last time (to include proper spelling)

•  Complete address (Street Number / Name, City / Township / Zip Code)

•  Phone Number Area code-Number (Must be reachable at all times during live fires)

•  Type of burn/fire (Brush, Leaves, Bonfires)

•  Dates of burns/fires (No more than three (3) days permitted per permit)

General Guidelines for Open Burning:

•  Fire MUST be physically attended to AT ALL TIMES.

•  Have extinguishing agents (Water / Fire Extinguisher) readily available.

•  DO NOT BURN on high wind days.

•  No brush / leave burning after dark (A Small bonfire is permitted)

•  You are responsible for your fires smoke, ensure it does not interfere with others in  your area.
